Toys and motivation

This weekend my brain said “Psstt… I’m tired of using bits of credit card and ink nibs for creating texture. I want palette knives. Oh and I want fresh paint. I’m tired of using the dry paint in the big palette.”

The brain is always looking for new toys to play with. It inspires us but after the newness fades chances are it will be another tool that just sits in the drawer waiting to never be used.

I’ve had a hard time finding that inspiration to push myself. I’ve started working on some digital pieces and done some automatic art to get into the groove but it hasn’t been easy.

Here’s the ink piece I completed last night in my sketchbook. It’s called Cracks in the Armor. I hope you enjoy it.
