Here’s hoping everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is warm, safe, and healthy (or cool and comfortable if it’s summer in your part of the world).
So the last couple months I’ve had a hard time getting my art groove on. I think the whole pandemic thing has been dragging me down. But it’s a new year so I apologize to anyone reading this for not posting earlier.
I have only completed one piece in the last month. It’s in my Moleskine sketchbook that I carry too work for a bit of lunch time work or at the dining room table after dinner. This drawing took about a month to do. I sketched it with pencil and then slowly added details in ink as I found time. I used the fountain pens I carry every day, green, brown, and black.
Once I reached the point where I didn’t feel it could progress any further I switched to Copic markers. Apparently Moleskine sketchbooks don’t handle Copics very well and there was a lot of bleed through. This caused me some grumbling but learning is a process. Next piece I’ll know what to expect.

Here is the final piece. What do you think?

Here are a couple additional pencil scribbles I did that I forgot about until I was looking through my photos.

And remember, do art.
